Expert in prostate cancer research and health development in Africa

Dr. Serigne Magueye Gueye has published or co-published more than 150 scientific publications and communications. He was a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2002, where he conducted research on prostate cancer in Black men.

He also received the Landon International Collaboration in Cancer Research Award from the American Association for Cancer Research in 2011. Since 2003, Dr. Serigne Magueye Gueye has been the principal investigator of a research project on the genetics and molecular epidemiology of prostate cancer in Black men, funded by the NIH (National Institutes of Health)

Furthermore, he is a co-founder and principal investigator of the MADCaP network, a transcontinental research network on prostate cancer in people of African descent, with centers in sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean, and the United States. He has also initiated and coordinated a Francophone research network on prostate cancer, as well as a research network on male infertility in Africa as part of GIERAF.

Dr. Serigne Magueye Gueye is also a member of WHO (World Health Organization) expert committees for the evaluation of multicenter projects for obstetric fistula treatment, the implementation of recommendations, and in the field of cancer.
